WIOA will pay for almost any trade-school, not just CDL school. I recommend someone without a strong burning desire to drive a truck pick another trade like, HVAC, electrician, plumbing, etc. They have a more attractive schedule and may pay better, a lot better.

I remember that. I used the WIOA in 2022 to get my CDL and was told that they were giving it to me specifically to replace you. You really p'd them off good. Don't worry though. I stopped taking their calls as soon as had my CDL in-hand.

Is Plumbing a good trade? My brother was a plumber and he said it doesn't pay, might be because we're in Florida, we all know jobs don’t really pay here lol. Florida has become expensive these past years and I can't wait until I move to Texas.

It pays well in my area like every trade. But I don't know any details.

Do us all huge solid... if this is the profession you truly desire and you make it through school. Commit to not being another in a long line a baboons in the industry. Be professional, courteous and a model driver that would reverse today's trend of low quality, flip flopper, truck apes. I have one on my fleet and I just had to put him on notice to either do a 180 because his future with our company is in jeopardy. "Don't Be That Guy/Gal". Best of luck, there is a lot of good about being a Driver.

Yeah, maybe it's a Florida thing then lol, I might go to another trade when I leave Florida and have a house.

Well guys, my point seems to have more relevance than you all think. When there is a free anything and no skin in the success, as it is in this industry, we all suffer.

Yep some turn out to be good drivers, taking it seriously and act professionally but a huge majority are just trained for a job, become victims of a cdl mill, without a good background or seriousness to have this more than just a job. The latter seems to be those who are parking in the fuel isle, can’t back up without hitting something and (not or) are those drivers who think they are special. These are the problems of the industry which we all need to get rid of.

I think there is a success stat of 30% with these grants, 30% shows it is a waste of our money.

I think TurkeyCreekJackJohnson says it all.

That 30% is an interesting stat. Is it spread across all trades covered by the WIOA or CDL training specific?
