@ 175 ohms with a 4:1 transformer, the impedance would be about 700 ohms which is acceptable. I gave mine to Russell because the frequency response wasn't as good as my Electro-Voice 602t with rk56 transformer and .01uf cap inline with the audio wire.

That's the one I use until I find something better. [IMG]

BTW since all my Shure mics are being phased out, I'll take 30 bucks apeice for them.

I wish I fully understood what you guys were talking about. All I know about radios is that I love my "old uniden grant xl" and my "old telex turner road king 56 mic" I wish I understood why I love them

I lurk around the radio forums, thinking I will learn, but most of this technical talk goes over my head.

If it makes you feel any better, your microphone (assuming it was made by Telex in Nebraska) is the standard by which all others are measured in regards to frequency response for a mobile. The only advantage my EV mics have over yours is a better quality switch, otherwise it sounds identical to yours.

It would be nice to verify if the Barjan model has a different color coding. I'm kind of assuming that it does since it's a different manufacturer but I don't know for sure.
