How do you secure 10 wire coils shotgun with 4 sets of coil racks? it's the way they say it needs to be loaded. 43000 lbs

I've always done the first and last on racks and the rest sit on the deck.

I missed the part about it being shotgun. My mistake.

Sounds like they want to load it like one big long tube, with dunnage and racks under it all. My first thought would be no.

Is there a reason it needs to be shotgun?

That's what they want one long tube

  6. Could be customer doesn't want all the plastic wrap blowing off. They can handle a little on two. But not entire load.

If they are loaded shotgun you can spread your wood out a little to get them long enough. When i did loads like that and they loaded with a c hook l woukd load them tight together with straps over the top. I had portable coil stands just for coiled wire and slitter coils.

The other thing we used to do was take a 5ft 4x4 and stick inside the front coil on a 45 degree angle or so. The bootom would dig into the wire and the top would hang out above the coil a foot or so right where your strap is. Then we would chain it back on both sides so it pullsd against the top of the coil. That have you a little piece of mind about the whole thing leaning forward as you went down the road. Some guys would put a trip block chained forward on the back on the floor to keep the bottom from sliding out. That was with bare coiled wire not plastic wrapped. I usually would put my rubber belting under the straps and run them on a bit of an angle so the straps couldn't get wedged in the wire. Lots of fun on a 90 degree day in some dirty old mill lol sure glad i dont haul coiled wire anymore. We would whine for a week when we had one of those loads.

Looks good, but I think I would also have used 4- 2" ratchet straps and formed an X across the front and the back of the tube.
Never really did just trust one strap across the back.
