That's the worst trucking company I ever drove for.

I had the HD version. Pissed me off so bad I finally just pulled into the FlyinJ in Beliot WI and bought a blue parrot.

I just could NOT get it to stay in so I could hear a conversation with it. One minute muffled, the next blasting my ear off.

My wife uses the Plantronics and has no issue.

I have stood next to a running reefer, APU, truck and had another truck set it's brakes next to me and my wife heard none of it using the Blue Parrot.

Unless I am standing directly behind the truck opening doors, I can still get a signal all the way to the very back of the truck.

My husband and I both have the Blue Parrot B250-XT as well. He got his first and I tried it out one weekend when he went to a movie I did not want to see and he left his Blue Parrot and phone with me so I could answer it for him. Since I found it was very comfortable, much more comfortable than the Jabra blue tooth I had a few years ago - 1000% more comfortable in fact - I bought my own Blue Parrot, same model a couple of weeks later.

Easy way not to chew on the microphone, the microphone can be moved away from the mouth when you are not actually using it. I do that all the time. I use the Blue Parrot about 95% of the time that I am using my cell phone because the Palm Pixi Plus is almost impossible to hear unless you are using some version of bluetooth. It has gotten such that my entire neighborhood can tell whether or not I am on the phone by the position of the microphone on my Blue Parrot.

Personally, I can't stand having something in my ear. I have an indash with BT only cost me $200 It came with installation kit and a harness to conect into exiting wiring. Plus I can use a flash drive for MP3's. Also, my GPS has hands free BT.

How effective are the in-dash units in filtering out noise? or put another way, can the person on the other end of the call actually hear you when you've going down the highway?

Well I can't have window down doing 65, but other than that, no problem. It came with a directional Mic. that seems to do good. I mounted it on the steering column with a piece of Velcro. Also, there are settings in the unit that you can adjust. I usually don't talk anyway except for a quick "I'll call when I stop", unless it's an emergency.

Thanks for posting that. I had no idea someone made an extended life battery for these blue parrots that was the same size as the OEM battery. I may just have to order me one. With a price of 15, 16 bucks, that's awesome.

I also have the blueparrott B250-XT and while I am generally satisfied with its performance, especially noise suppression, I've noticed that it can get "confused" when the truck travels out of and back into phone service areas. The device tends to "go dead" with neither a red nor blue light flashing. A call that comes in doesn't register on the headset, but the phone still thinks the bluetooth device has control so you can't pick up the call there either. The "fix" is to reestablish the pairing mode, which I've taken to do every time I know I've gone through the "no service to service" cycle. Maybe my particular device is defective, but it happens often enough that I think it may be a "feature".
