I found out recently after having trouble getting enough sleep at night that I have a severe case of OSA and my Doctor recommended I not drive for extended periods. I don't want to go from decent money down to starting over again as I have a family so I was searching through some jobs on Indeed and one of the jobs I ran into was wireline operator. The way the recruiter explained it it's more hands on and not driving for 12-16 hours and I believe it may be a better fit for me. I was just wondering if anyone had experience as a wireline operator before I move forward? Any advice? I don't have the strongest back but I am pretty determined and willing to do what I needed t do. Thanks for any responses and stay safe.

Slick line or e-line?
Slick line is easier on you, but both take downhole knowledge or you'll get your self in a pinch, and possibly trash a decent well. -
Lots of bending over and lifting. Bad back won’t work in this situation.
Personally I found it to be very boring. -
What about sitting for long periods of time?
If no problem, have you thought about being a Frac Fueler?
They sit on location and keep everything fueled. Some even have a frac hand to assist the driver.
Get paid 12 hours a day, plus change out time.
For the last 2 years there has been a big demand in ND. and other oilfields ive checked.snowman1980 and ur2ez83 Thank this. -
I'm not sure whether it's slick line, cased hole, etc. or even the difference between at this point. Someone was telling me that it was back breaking work and meant for people that are in a little better shape than me. -
Cased hole just like implied, casing in hole (pipe); so what I get from your conversation this a is an e-line gig. Good job if you learned at a young age then moved up as an operator.
