I have a carrier apu and let me say this. The cooling sucks even on a 90 degree day I find myself idling every now and then as the cab is still hitting 75...
Was thinking my apu comes with an extension cord would it be safe to wire up a mini split to that cord and run the mini split that way?

it will be fine as the mini split pulls little power being inverter technology. i run a 12000 btu mitsubishi and it will even run off a 2500 inverter if needed but the best way is with a generator as the generator used way less gas. a predator 3500 will run 10 hours with the mini split blowing 62 and only use a little over a gallon of gas. thats a lot less than running an apu for power source. 12000 btu is a 1 ton unit and in the middle of the day u can hang meat it gets so cold. mini splits are very efficent
