Wiring side flood lights

    You really should have a relay, its not very expensive but its the right way to add any electric device off of the battery, some of those Cree lights have 30 plus amp draw each.

    I'll second what Animosus said. The problem with adding lights to an existing circuit is that if too much current is drawn, the SAM will set a fault and disable that whole curcuit. Basically, the SAM has a min/max current draw and if it's not in that window, it thinks there's a problem. There may be an option to program the load lights for a different current draw (if more lights was a factory option), but you'd need the ServiceLink software to change it. A relay would add minimal draw to the circuit to trigger the relay and allow you to power the lights from the batteries. That will avoid taking it to a dealer, who will probably just tell you it can't be done.

    Thanks guys, I'm getting an education here. I just need to talk to my manager, and seeing he'll let me do the work, or if he's still gonna call in a service guy (fleet truck, Penske leased).
