I almost got shot/tazed/beat in a case of mistaken identity a couple years ago. I was driving a vehicle matching the description of a vehicle used in an armed robbery earlier that evening. Out here its rural (as in his backup would be a minimum of 15 minutes out). He came up to my vehicle, ready to draw his sidearm. Do any of you really think that's a great time to open your yap and start being a prick? Yeah I KNOW I was 100% innocent but the officer doesn't know that. Once he ran my plates/checked my ID and story, he apologized for the inconvienience and wished me safe travel.

If I'd have opened my yap like half these idiots that get shot, I'd have been arrested or tazered. I've had a few interactions with the police and every officer I've encountered has been very professional. Not saying all officers are good but most of them are.

 

90% of the problem is the victim mentality. When you are repeatedly told you are a victim and being targeted. You go into these situations with a chip on your shoulder. It's cuz I'm [insert demographic] that I'm being singled out. When reality 90% of cops could care less. The reason they are doing it is because of cause. If you go into an encounter with a cop the same way you'd go into an interview. You'll exit with that cop saying have a nice day and sending you on your way. But all of these "incidents" have one thing in common. Chip on shoulder and victim mentality.

When those that allegedly stand behind the black community stop telling them they are victims and start empowering them to improve their standings. You will start to see less and less of this happening.

Why is the crime rate higher among minorities?
I will make it simple for you.
There are only 2 options.(bearing in mind that it has been over 5 decades since the equal rights movement marches in the 60's)

Option1
The system is wrong and needs change.

Option 2
The system is right,which means minorities are not equal to whites.

And why do you and others want to see this as a leftist issue?
The solutions can be left or right and should be debated.
But admitting what the data shows has nothing to do with left or right.

I will add that i do not have the answer how to solve this.
