Another thing to consider is the fact that my gun is always "hot". I would only need to draw and shoot. Whereas Jamie has to chamber a round first.

This reminds me of a time my sister, mom and I were riding with my dad and some folks in a car tried and succeeded, to get my dad to pull over. He believed someone was hurt but as soon as he pulled over, they took off. He told my mom to hand him the pistol out of the glovebox and, she did. My sister and I were like; "holy cow!". He was going to catch up to them and shoot at them but, thank God he didn't catch them.

There is an app for that too.

$1.99 in the play store. CCW is it's name.
They do their best to update it every 30 days for law changes.

Why do people keep unloaded guns in their house & say they have guns to protect their home & family?

Would they be able to protect their family if they had their guns locked up behind a lock in one part of the house, & the ammunition locked up in another part of the house?

By the time they got their guns out, got their ammunition out, & loaded their gun, would it not be to late?

Plus, how many people have been killed by a gun that suppose to be unloaded?

Some loads are high value enough that a baddie that knows what he's looking for might attempt a robbery. I've heard of it happening to high value flatbed loads and people pulling fast and furious stunts on vans down the highway. Also had a friend that while parked, someone couldn't get past the lock on his trlr so they cut a hole in the bottom of his trlr. Heard another story of robbers that did get pastthe locks and managed to steal a good portion of his load. So, it is possible, but usually you are sleeping.

I've also heard of truckers getting held at gunpoint of guys on the steps. Last year a recent victim that was at same shipper I was at had taken a low clearance route in NYC. Dirty cops told him to follow a tow truck out. Tow truck took the trucker to an empty lot, beat him up, stole his load and stuff and held the truck ransom for 3000 if the company he drove for wanted it back.

Need for protection is there, but from what I know from living in a bad part of a city for nearly my whole life is if you play it smart or stay away from that area you won't have any issues. Best defense imho if you go to these areas is try not to look out of place. But anyhow, I have a cheater bar and a few sharp blades. I own guns but haven't seen a reason to bring them with me yet.

And when was the last time you actually practiced with it concealed, or set up your "bed" and tried to draw and fire from that position?

A thug may not know anything, especially if its a compact clip or a shotgun. It may be risky but you could possibly scare off a thug with an unloaded gun. Good point though. The idea is if the thug gets to your gun before you do, he wont have any ammo to shoot it with, or will take too long trying to obtain both. Failsafe so you don't get shot by your own gun. I don't follow this though. my 9mm is always loaded. don't have no kids in the house either so don't have to worry.

This is a mute argument,,"should we carry, or shouldn't we?" and if we do; "will it be of more risk to carry vs not carrying?" If I feel that I am safer with my firearm than without, than that is MY choice. I don't care who carry's, as long as that person is not a WOLF. But, than that is why I carry, to defend against the WOLF. To say that I should train on a regular basis with my firearm's, is a true statement but, to just throw things out there like "bullets going through wall's" and such is just scare tactics. I will always and forever stand by; "It is better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it"! Another great one is; "Better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6".
