Nope it was d rail on a 655....He responce to it was tthat he was hittin it pretty hard with power...Not sure if he ment an amp or bench power or #### turned up way to high....I dont wanna #### on the guy but it is what it is..
Seems every time someone discuss his radios power, it way up there compared to other tuners who leave it a lil lower so it doesnt scatter...
I not wanting to #### all over the guy and his work but when you put it out there how can it be denied..
Same with walcott...Wicket place to stop and buy what you need but cust service unless you spend good $ suxs..Their tuner the last time i was there(4-8yrs ago) must be asleep when working on the radios....Two guys fresh outta their shop installs were scattering about 10 or more freqs when they were testing the newly purchased radios..I waa up near the front of the lot and all i could hear them as they left walcott till they parked at the trk stop down back...I searched the odd sound and found them way up the cb band....
To many drivers out here are stuck on the bottom line of watt # and low swr thinkin their stuff is better than it is..

I suppose when they spend hundreds of dollars on a 40 - 60 watt radio just to talk on the cb band, they want every watt they can get. The problem is that an extra 3 or 4 watts won't matter on the 11 meter band anyway. Gotta love that swinging needle, ha.

None of them perform. Not really any wiggle room out of that one.

When the v1 955's were available it was a $1500 radio with more bells n whistles than you can shake a stick at....I just wanna talk on my radio not have it make lunch after washing my truck..

Once an average "good" technician has tinkered with a radio performance will always be less than it was from the factory.
They will need to be closer to me in order for me to hear them, than would be required if the radio was stock, which I would hear from a greater distance. I don't know which videos you refer to.

Cobra 29 and a well matched amp and antenna and you will out talk most all the high dollar radios.

Well if that tec was good at setting up the cobra/amp then why bother with an amp at all and just have the more advanced radio with the performance to go with it..

    rabbiporkchop Thanks this.
