Sometimes, a cheap $40 radio is the best way to go for maximum performance and minimum cost. Here is a prime example

For the money, a Cobra 29 and a 350 or so, Texas Star, or similar, will not be out done by any un-amplified radio that I've ever seen. Antennas being equal.

rabbiporkchop, craig_sez and Timin770 Thank this.

I purchased a Conex 3400 from him when he was in Moriarty, NM. It was supposed to be the latest and greatest and perfectly set up. Everything seemed great except for the $500 price tag. Radio made it 3 months before it started nothing but static. I called him and he told me to send it to him to fix it. I sent it to him and he tried to charge me to fix it even though "he offered warranty at the time of sale". I told him this and he begrudgingly agreed. Said he fixed it and sent it back. It never worked again. 3 different cb gurus later tried and about another $300 spent for it to be collecting dust in my garage. When I got it it worked amazing but not worth the money and hassle. A cobra 29 out of the box works better and lasts much longer than Wolfamans radio. Also it took 3 months to get the smell of patchouli out of my truck as his shop reeks and the radios carry the smell.

    rabbiporkchop and stacks Thank this.

I Purchased A President Washington 10 Meter CB Radio From Wolfmans CB Shop In Carnesville, Ga. Last June And He Set It Up And Peaked And Tuned It And Set My SWR's And It Works Beautiful! I've Had Numerous Complaints On How Good It Sounds And It's Range! All Total It Was $500 With New Attenna's As Well! He Might Have Been A Little Bit On The Pricey Side But They're A Really Good Shop And Know There Stuff Plus They Have An Outstanding Reputation So When They're Good I'm Not Concerned About Price But Quality Of Work And Products They Sell And Stand Behind! I Highly Recommend This Shop! Infact I'm Going Back For Another Radio In May For My Other Truck Because This One Works So #### Good! I'm Very Very Happy!

His customers would complain if it sounded too good. They would assume it was a factory tune right out of the box. And since these guys are paying fifteen hundred dollars for his super magical hack job, they want it to sound distorted, so they know they got their money's worth.

    craig_sez Thanks this.
