I have loaded at Womble Houston multiple times over the last few years and the shortest amount of time I was on-site to get loaded was 8½ hours with an 11hr wait as the winner. That place is horrible.

A friend of mine asked if I would run a load out of Womble with him on Monday and I said NOPE. I would rather accept a load that pays less than go sit there in the heat all day.

Told the bossman add a $500 Womble surcharge on the bill for me,I'm not going back unless there's at least $500 for my time.

I agree. This place is ridiculous of how many employees I see standing around doing absolutely nothing or watching forklift operators take every single minute they can to perform a task.

Driver behind me had a 600 mile trip, for $1500.He didn't plan on sitting there 12 hours to get loaded.
I posted this for anyone to see,in case they haven't been there.Plan on most of a day to get loaded.
They have expensive, coated, certified pipe there that their customers need.
No cheap freight coming out of there.

With their coated pipe, they require 12 hardwood 4x4x8 dunnage as well as some kind of padding between the pipe and the dunnage as well as padded pipe stakes. At least that's been required of me in the past.

BRING 4x4 hardwood dunnage, they have a guy that has strips of carpet ,he staples it to the dunnage. They cover the pipe stakes with carpet too,
Check in at the main office, there's a guy in the yard that gives you a form to fill out ,take it to the office. They process that and tell you which yard to go to.Go there and get loaded,go back to the main office with your paperwork, they'll scan the barcode on each pipe and video the load.
Office will sign off on the load and give you the final paperwork.
Bring food and water ,plan on a wait.

    REO6205 Thanks this.

The last time I was at Womble I had to cover my 12 new dunnage with carpet myself and the receiver kept the dunnage at delivery. I was reimbursed after delivery as well.

The paperwork and barcode scanning was the same as well as needing lunch and a snack while waiting.
