I see alot of women in training etc. in CRST...meet a good bit of them...Me im a 8 month contracted student thru them and its been nice "Turned 21 Nov. 2010" Thru alot of hard work & hardly ever being late in spite of blizzards...storms..etc i now have a 2012 Volvo VN770 assigned to me with only NOW 885 miles on it...had 92miles when i picked it up. It's not a bad company, i dont too much care for the teams but my trainer who trained me stopped being a trainer n became my co-driver cause i did so well during my 28days or what not. But the best feeling is to be 21 and have my own truck basically n now a brand new one so new i could cook an egg on the hood n eat off of it too...
CRST would be a good company to start off with and train you...my only problem with them is they dont get me home when i ask them to, maybe a couple of days later but oh well...i'm not really tripping on that. -
LOL Stop sniffing that glue, it's for your little car models. -
Chiming in as a lady driver, yes you will encounter an occasional inappropriate comment, but nothing more than you would hear elsewhere. I had 2 male trainers, no issue with either one. I have also given male drivers a ride at the request of the company I work for, and had no issue there. So relax about that, trucking isn't nearly as wicked and dangerous as some would have you believe.
What it is is exciting and frustrating and challenging and boring and hard and stressful and awe-inspiring and irritating and wonderful. It's not for everyone. Seems to be one of those careers where you either love it or hate it- there's no middle ground. And, IMO, the only valid reason for becoming a trucker is for the love of it. Any other reason, you won't make it for long.Lady K, wicked, Lilbit and 1 other person Thank this. -

In OZ we have several couples that drive together and take turns at the wheel, seems to work well for them. Also there are a few female drivers around driving for companies or that own their won truck. I luvit, its nice to see a good looking woman during the day, can't help myself im just a hot blooded male. lol
