I only hate cleaning the windshield and putting on chains. But, a man can work from dusk to dawn, but a womens work is never done. Keep on rolling!

Make it known right from the start that you are there to make a living and not find a mate. Dress appropriately and let it be know you are there to learn. You don't want any dinners after works or any drinks and such. You're there for you hushand so any idiot that can not take the warning just be sure to report him. Stand you ground because you have every right to be there than anyone else. Don't be real crabby just be nice at a distance. Once you get you training and you get into that truck with your husband then you can laugh about while you're making the money.

Hey Lilbit, I got my name when I drove escort/pilot driver. So basically thats my handle too. Maybe we will run into each other. You can be #1 I'll be #2, hows that. lol And thank you all for your input. I still have alot to think about. And I am looking at other companies. CRST has accepted me, and they are team drivers. But honestly in my beginning, that wouldnt really be a bad thing. CRST also has an 8 month contract, all others have 12 month programs. So I dont have to stay out with them forever. Another thing is they have a 20/10 program which would let me come home more often then 1 day per 7. My husband is coming around. Hes just worried. And I know I'm not gonna get rich quick. But as a woman with no skills other than working behind a desk, 10 to 12 dollars an hour is all I can find. My husband is a toolmaker, not a trucker. He stands on concrete all day and its hard on him. Yes I wish he would consider going with me someday, but we will have to see. His road freedom is on a motorcycle, mine is in the car. I did a courier job for a riend to Memphis and back the other day and loved it. I will take more advice though from anyone. Im looking at P.A.M and USA, but havent heard anything good about PAM. I have been told several times about Swift. I'll look into it. Got one week to decide for sure. Got to get thru unpaid training and get on the road making money. Ya Know. I know its not money in the beginning, I just want to do decent to help my husband from worrying about money. Were in Ch 13 and need to get out soon. That in itself is hard on our marriage. I understand things will be more physical, but CRST is 80% drop and hitch, and 99% touch free. If they are not being honest with what they say, then I need to know. Maybe a CRST driver or trainer either current or past. Anyway, not gonna write a book. But loving the input, it truly helps. And try to go easy, everyone fights their demons in a different way. Again Thanks. Im still excited to get started......

Lilbit #1 & #2! Pilot car huh? That sounds kind of cool!

I'm not on the road any longer. Haven't been since late 2000. Won't be back out there any time soon either because of back and shoulder problems, but my hubby is out there!

Good luck with whoever you decide to go with.

I have worked for them for CRST for over four years now....IMO I wouldn't do the 20/10 unless you are not really worried about the money...They are not the best company at getting you home or right back on the truck when you want it all the time. They are mostly drop and hook and it is very rare you will have to touch freight though
