Wood Thrown From Overpass Injures

TROY, Ohio -- A 5-year-old child suffered serious facial lacerations when a bundle of firewood was tossed from an overpass onto Interstate 75 in Troy.

The incident happened around 7:15 a.m. Saturday, Dayton affiliate WEWS-TV reported.

The wood crashed through a sunroof, hitting the child in the back seat of a southbound sport-utility vehicle.

The child, believed to be from Anna, Ohio, was taken to Children's Medical Center in Dayton for treatment.

A white vehicle was seen parked on top of the overpass when the incident occurred.

The Ohio State Patrol hopes to lift fingerprints from the bundle of wood.
