Anybody recommend a good small company on the east coast preferably VA that will take a 1992 KW?Looking for regional or port/intermodal work with a fuel surcharge.Would consider reefer and anything else non-hazmat.
Over 30 years experience with a clean record.Truck in very good mechanical condition.Working now but interested in a better deal.Thanks.

Should be plenty of intermodal work in that area. I would think age of truck would not matter, but , may not be a better gig than you already have.

Check out Landstar I've seen them pulling sea cans on I-95 not sure where they are coming from though (Charleston, SC or Jacksonville, FL maybe), they do take on older trucks as long as its DOT compliant....not a clue what container work pays though..

If I was looking for local work, id be having a look at your local craigslist. Proceed with caution though...

I strated out as a O/O with CountainerPortGroup. They might have what you are looking for. I know they take older trucks. They had a terminal in Va. I worked out of Baltimore. But that was about 7 years ago.

Thanks everybody.Been talking to Container Port, sounds like it might work for me.Enjoyed what I was doing until the fuel jumped and "the powers that be" decided to change to forced dispatch.Looks like I might actually get to haul something less than the 85,000-90,000 I`ve been doing. My poor old truck, not to mention my nerves, will like that.lol
