For not confirming work history, no. There isn't anything you can do about that other than keep records from where you worked that is refusing to verify your employment history with them.

You can dispute anything you believe is inaccurate with HireRight. I once had someone else's driver license and drunk driving conviction showing up on my report. It was removed finally by HireRight when I did threaten to sue them for this.

Social Security records. I went to my local SS office and they printed my entire work history on one page, dates and all. It was very helpful.
