The school may require pre-hire letters. You can test the waters by submitting job applications now for pre-hires. Pre-hires from companies are contingent upon sucessful completion of cdl school, company orientation and drug test.
Submit lots of applications to companies that hire new cdl grads and get some pre-hire letters:
Watkins-Shepard
Jones Bros. Trucking
Abilene Motor Express
Freymiller
KKW Trucking
There's plenty more. Submit online apps. and follow with a phone call and ask for a pre-hire. They will probably send one by email.

How'd you get the state to pay for it? Despite my savings, I'm receiving food stamps and free insurance. Would I be deemed 'needy' enough for a freebie, or do I need to omit some crimes?

Also thank you Chinatown. I've submitted an application to CRST so far. I'm worried though because between my work history, one speeding ticket within 3 years (if only they went back 10 years to see I've only gotten one) and a not at fault motorcycle accident, I'm feeling pretty hopeless in this field. The speeding ticket was very bad (15+ mph), but it's marked as an S93 on my DMV report which means the amount over the limit is unspecified. I'm not sure if they can verify the speed by the citation number since I can't even access it since it has been over 2 years. -
Yes, ttyson is right, the state might pay for your school; check with the unemployment office. They pay for cdl school for the unemployed/under employed.
Carolina Cargo and Western Express will hire you, no doubt. Submit lots of applications right now. -
So you work for cash, don't pay tax, have a large savings account, get food stamps, get free obama care, and now you want the government to pay for your school that you can afford. You are what is wrong with America.Rodeorowdy, demi and rachi Thank this.

If you start doing the online applications with all those companies I listed, you'll probably start getting emails and phone calls before you finish the list.

It's not a LARGE savings account. I have $11,000 and another whopping $5,000 on the way from an insurance payout after being hit by a car on my motorcycle which was totaled, which cost me my job that I paid taxes for along with the health insurance I was also paying for. I didn't qualify for unemployment and I'm now $17,000 in debt from hospital deductibles. My mom is unemployed and has been denied disability despite having cancer and back problems and carpal tunnel. I'm the only person in my family with any money and like hell am I gonna go broke paying for the countless doctor and physical therapy sessions I went through because some old lady who shouldn't have been driving (she died literally a week later so I couldn't even sue her) hit me and ruined my #### life when I have meaningful bills to pay like rent.
