TurtlesLikel,
Are you TRULY and GENUINELY SERIOUS about wanting to become a truck driver??
Out of SHEER RESPECT and CONCERN for you and your future as a potential truck driver, I was quite SERIOUS when I suggested that you take a FULL 3 years of your life to CLEAN OUT YOUR BODY AND BECOME VERY PHYSICALLY FIT in order to meet all the physical health and fitness requirements of BOTH the D.O.T. and the trucking companies.
I was also QUITE SERIOUS when I said that you NEED to get a FULL 3 YEAR WORK HISTORY with W-2 forms and income tax forms to back it up. Your current work record is very QUESTIONABLE to say the least.
Some of the other truck who aren't "exactly role models" are also facing the risk of losing their medical cards, hence, their jobs as well.
YOU HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO BECOME THAT NEW ROLE MODEL OF BOTH HEALTH AND PHYSICAL FITNESS.
Many LTL truck drivers working for Coke, Pepsi, 7-Up, dairy companies as Bordens and Hiland Dairy, and beer companies are some of the most physically fit drivers you will ever see.
OTR drivers who work on Dollar General accounts, along with other OTR drivers on many other accounts who "fingerprint" all their items, are quite physically fit.
Flatbed truck drivers are seriously some of the most physically fit truck drivers around. They have to be in order to throw around tarps that are 100 lbs. plus or more, plus the heavy cords and chains that they need to use to secure loads.
Some of the reefer drivers also need to be able to handle boxes of crated meats and produce that may weigh anywhere from 50 lbs. to 100 lbs. plus.
God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!
