Let’s say that the driver stopped abruptly and got rear ended and the bucket was high enough to go under..Who’s at fault now?

I already know the answer..just food for thought

They didn't put ANY signs up, that's the thing. It's written right into the building code that power lines have to be a certain height. Unless this is a no truck route, which definitely doesn't appear to be the case, then there is no way for the driver to know that he can't clear that bucket. How does he know he's the first truck that came that way and discovered it's below 13'6?

It’s a good thing that a truck wasn’t going straight through that intersection with a green light.

Based on the position of the bucket and the truck, it's believable the bucket "blended into" the traffic light.

News lady said "trapping the man upside down". I'm sure if the truck was going straight, just looking at the light would reveal a worker, it was just a bad angle for the driver to see, and I bet that safety guys aXX is on the line.

Yea looking at avalible info and video. Driver did a dumb, but the repair crew didnt exactly go out of their way to cover all their bases. Id call this a 90/10 split. 90% on the "professional" driver, bad angle or not he could see the bucket, could see it was low and should have been more cautious around it. At the very least cut to the inside lane. And the rest on the bucket crew that didnt properly mark, close or flag lanes.

One thing I've learned is just assume everyone around you is a complete moron. I'd have had that lane locked down before going up in the bucket.

Or at least park the truck below where the worker is. And what the heck is slack jawed Fred talking about, the truck never would have made the turn? Yeah, if your guys had the lane secured properly. "So,,how was your day, dear?"o_O
