We are in full control already. The problem is the lag in transmission, everything hits the server at once, that's why the planners fall short on time getting loads off.

How I deal with the MT task is I hook up, complete the task blank and when they kick back trl unit not found I just send a freeform with the TA# and Load# saying please update. It takes about 5 mins. Done.
RoadToad69 Thanks this. -
Hate to break it to you but we're not "in full control". Depending on what operations is doing your NAT can 'magically' change. Last week I ran a trailer into Edwardsville for out-processing and my Nat updated 10 times in the 50 miles of driving. When I called in to check what GB thought my NAT was I found out it was drastically different than what my screen shows.
-
Well, that's the wrong way to do it LOL, just making more work for operations.
What you do is once you get there, you arrive right away, and send the request trailing unit message immediately. That way by the time you drop your load the system already had 10 minutes to respond. Then you go through the system. It's pretty simple really. The problem that remains with the system is the NAT limitations, and apparently, they'll be gone by July when the worthless ETD function is eliminated.RoadToad69 Thanks this. -
I'm talking about pick up an MT not request one.
-
Your NAT changes when a new assignment comes on. I'm a NE driver, it might be different for OTR.
Don't really have problems with my NAT. -
unless your drop down menu has trailers listed the quickest way to get that drop down populated is to send the request trailing unit message from the workflow message tab. It will then give you a list of trailers at that location you have highlighted in workflow within about 5 minutes. It can be done before you arrive.
My DBL suggested I do it around a 1/2 before arrival.
WHy they dont populate that list proir I have no idea. If another driver has been there and taken a trailer from that list it still leaves others available to grab.Boogers Thanks this. -
I never request one unless they're none at all in my location.. I've sat 30-45mins waiting for a response to populate. That's why I just take the MT complete that task and send a freeform. I've had no complaints thus far.
-
that is all fine and dandy, until the drop down list has 10 trailers, then you get there to pick one up, and NONE of them are available.....then you have to go thru, one by one, and list a reason for why you can't take it.
I just get there, find an MT, and send that ONE in, do my pre-trip, by the time I am done, it is updated to pick that one up.RoadToad69 Thanks this. -
Wonder if that was me. I've been telling drivers that for a while
