It's like this in every industry...my father is a doctor in CA, and it's the same scenario.

My discontent goes back about a year, and WF is just the final straw. I know they had to do something, because the old Mac system is DOS-based, the way I understand it, and was pretty much at capacity in terms of flexibility. So I can appreciate an "upgrade"....I just can't appreciate one that has thus far been so poorly implemented.

SNI is still a good choice, don't get me wrong....I've been there almost 4 1/2 years. It's just that for me, it's time to move on.

Just puttin' it out there....I'm not one to blow sunshine up another's butt just to make things look and smell pretty. WF is what it is so far....I'm sure in time it will improve....but the record of SNI and their implementation of policy and technological changes just isn't very good, and I've had enough.

If you're happy and satisfied, that's great. I was too for the first 3 1/2 years or so. But concerns, complaints, and suggestions continue to fall on deaf ears in Green Bay. That, plus a pay freeze of around 3 years is more than enough.

With what has happened in this industry the last three years you should be happy to have a job, many dont. You could be like the arrow drivers who all over the country one morning woke up and found their fuel cards shut off and the company closed the doors on them and left them to find their own way home

Being "happy to have a job" and settling for what you view as no longer satisfactory are different things. I'm thankful every day, but after a dozen years driving and 51 years living, I'm not willing to merely "settle", and am leaving before I have too much invested in this place.

After all....they're sure not investing much directly into US.

Google has several satellite views available--they delete nothing. The free-to-the-public ones you see when you use Google Earth or something like that can be quite old, but they are free. You can also pay for their service and get pictures that are so new you can see yourself walking out to your own car this morning going to work...if you had a car and walked out to work!

Big Brother Google is always watching from high overhead. :biggrin_2551:

    48 Packard,
Its not just you man.Its always what can YOU as a driver do for THEM.
This new work/office worker flow is another prime example.
Developed undoubtably by someone that doesnt drive.
Theres PLENTY of drivers that dont come in here(forum) that are tired of this type treatment.
Like i said before, ask how many drivers your particular area destroys, and uses up a year with sni.Ive kept a journal, but I guess they were just bad drivers that were hired by elite sni staff.Good luck out there.

Nope i agree that SNi does some crazy wacked out BS sometimes.... I think that there are people in Green Bay who all they do is think of stuff that they want to change so they can keep their jobs. I don't think work flow is gonna be better than the old system but the old system isn't compatable with the new system. But is it really so bad that you will quit your job and lose money over a technology system. will there be learning curves of course will there be glitches of course but the new company you go to you will also have to learn their system and how they want things done and start as a new employee. I do however see that you have the right to do as you see best for you and your family.I say good luck in your next adventure.

If you re-read my posts, my leaving is NOT because of WF. WF is simply the final straw in a full season of discontent.

Number of weeks in 2011 turning in 3000+ miles: 1 (3003)
Average number of miles per week, counting ONLY weeks when out the full 7 days (no TAH): 2554
Total paid miles for the year: 112,600

These numbers from a driver that generally stayed out 18 to 20 days, and took only 3 off. Even staying out 25 days, never took 5 off (save for one time in March, when the death of a family member caused the fifth day to be needed).

I've spoken to my DBL, the management team at the OC, and several others who have called expressing their "concern" about my displeasure on at least a half-dozen occasions over the past year, the latest being just three days ago.

EVERY holiday weekend that I worked, you can make book that I'll be in the same place: I-95 in CT, fighting to get down and across the GW Bridge. Time-killing at its best.

So, no, TennMan...it's NOT technology that is causing me to leave (and the money I may lose will be recouped in rather short order). It is the continuing failure of Schneider National to use my time wisely. It is the continuing crap that SNI feeds us about "caring for drivers". They care? Show us. Put some money in our pockets. We don't care about additional hat pins, stickers for our trucks proclaiming to the world how long we've been a safe driver, or other baubles. Drivers understand compensation in the form of pay and benefits. WF was just the final nail in the proverbial coffin.

I have never in my life tried to justify staying at a job like I have this one, and it's still going to be a very difficult move for me. And yes, there will be trials and adjustments to be made at the new position. But I look at it as an investment in my future and that of my family.

I'm just not willing put up with the BS any longer. I return from vacation Monday, and will turn in my notice the same day, with my last day being January 27th.
