So my cdl school is paid out of pocket. I want to work for a mega just to go out with a trainer for a few weeks to a month. Then after before going solo I plan to quit then buy my own tractor. Then leased to a company my parents own. They have thier own authority for a year now. That's my Game plan I want to hit the ground earning good money. Alot of my class mate are working for Megas pulling 700 a week net. I have 30k savings to bank roll my ventures. Do this sound plausible? My parents will charge me 10 percent of the load and it will be mostly spot market loads.

Do your parents drive? If so, after getting your CDL, why not ride along with them for a few weeks or a month. That would allow you to learn their system BEFORE buying a truck.

Yea ill be the first. But say I can swing it, and everything goes well. Could I earn what regular drivers earn mile per mile leasing?

If you’re going to be an owner operator, you want a day rate. You want the loads to pay for the time it has your truck tied up. How much money does your truck have to make for the business, not you…there is a difference, to be profitable?

I don't understand how a company who runs box trucks would want to run a full sized rig for spot deliveries. Lots of business I guess. Don't mind me.
