No.
First off, most lease operators make less than company drivers once you take into account health insurance, 401k, and self employment taxes.
Second, you have to pay for the truck even when you're not working. Rough math says $150 a day in fixed costs. Take two weeks off and you're 'down' $2,100.
Finally, in the 14 years I've been on this site, I see a post like yours once a month - let's call it 150 in total. Of those 150, maybe 2 have been successful. Overall, more than 1/2 of lease operators do not finish the full term.of their lease. You're putting yourself on a path to burn through your savings and end up being a company driver anyways. Be smart, run as a company driver for a year and if you still want your own truck then best wishes.
Working for a mega carrier then quitting after training.

Bro you won't even get 200$ in today's economy for mixbreed puppies let along a stray dog. Kennels are hit just as hard as truckers in today's economy. I don't even think puppy mills are survival anymore. Today only the strong survives. And longevity plays a huge roll in who still around. You remember French bull dogs during the pandemic. Days? Fetching 5k a puppy. Well this is what a AKC registered puppy is worth right now. No puppy mill surviving right now i can almost garantee it.bryan21384 and hope not dumb twucker Thank this.

I plan to outright buy the tractor cash. The Only thing I'd be paying is insurance I know it will be high but I'm fine with that. I'm leasing my tractor to my parents authority. So I won't have a weekly payment.

The insurance for a driver with no experience will make that 30k in your bank account disappear so fast it’ll make your butt pucker and then if there’s any issues with the truck you buy you better be on a first name basis Guedo the Loan Shark cause the bankers are not your friendbryan21384, MSWS, tscottme and 2 others Thank this.

Better run the numbers again and then have someone else do it— I been contemplating jumping down the rabbit hole for 4 years and I can’t make them jive

Yes after we retire our dogs. We will team drive after we retire the last of our females in 2 years. We are not after trying to get rich in trucking. What our vision is, we work hard on the road for 8 months then we live abroad with that money for 4 months out of a year. Can't do that with a kennel and can't do that running your own authority. Leasing our truck with an authority seems to look like it could work.Chinatown Thanks this.

That's the point. A plan that depends on overcharging for dogs isn't going to work. Your plan is throwing away revenue. We don't see it working. You asked.skallagrime Thanks this.

Would it make you feel better if I told you most of my clientele are other breeders and kennels that need a better bloodline to improve theirs? It's only over charging if that dog does nothing but fetch for you.Chinatown Thanks this.
