To get on with Kraft you have to be with the company 6 months.
    Have 100% on time service.
    No issues.
And live in an area where they need drivers.
They have many locations to go to in the Midwest and Northeast. I know they would hire out of your area in Indiana.
If you are near I-70 even better.

They like people to be near a major lane for the product. And they will try and keep you in your region most of the time. The miles on Kraft are in your back yard though. I would pass thru Indiana several times a week when on a set run, and several times a week even before that.
The problem with Kraft in Atlanta is that there is a big DC there. Allot goes in, but we do not haul it out.
So you take allot of Newberry loads and others to get back into the northern lanes.
You will learn allot of the locations for Kraft while in your first 6 months. You will haul it allot. As well as Nestle and others.

    Fooman Thanks this.

Is most all Central training in SLC?

    My location... I'm pretty much smack-dab inbetween I70 & I64.

Thanks for the heads up on the Kraft CD.

SLC is by far the best place to go for the school.
Weather is better, food is better, lot is better.
Just a long bus ride. Look into super saver flights and you can get there without too much out of pocket.

update for people interested in kraft they just took another penny from their drivers, my friend said they were going to loose the contract if they didn't. I think there down to 32 cpm. And like chromedome said if you take a flight their after you finish and have your own company truck they will reimburse you for the plane ticket.
I wish they had a nestle dedicated run for a few months i was running the one south of slc to Cleveland and back, easy miles.

    .32??
They use to be .40 cpm. I heard they lowered it to .39 cpm.
I cannot see them lowering it much more.
They are having a hard time with the acct due to late deliverys.

I live in Indianapolis (I have I-65, I-70, I-74 and 69 running thru Indianapolis). I have nestle just north east of Indy. I'm flying into SLC on 3 April, recruiter said they would re-imburse me the cost of a bus ticket.

Thanks for the info on things...PPL, be safe out there. :biggrin_25520:

two of my friends that started on the kraft account a year ago were only at 35 cpm but that was due to them being 6 months into the company. I know if they ever took a penny from us o/o's i would be at conley turning in my truck they already took away our ontime bonus. If we were still paper there would be no excuses for a late delivery unless due to weather.. i.e its snowing here in missouri and we are almost into april. Good luck with everything lonestar2.

With 6 months at the company Kraft was .40 cpm, that is why it was such a great deal. I am trying to remember when i left central now. I know it was like a year and a half now, maybe. Not sure.
I know it was before the economy really took a dive. I do not think I would do Kraft without the extra pay. Since you get no layover or detention. And I hear they already took stop pay and other perks from all drivers now. Kraft use to be a good gig, for home time it may still be, but that is a massive drop in the pay rates.

No, I was laid off from the flatbed company last June.
I waited a few months for a call back, but when they stayed slow I went to Heartland.
I am thinking about going local again though. My old job offered me a job today, but we have not worked out pay yet.
Would be running end dumps, 6am to 6-8pm, and half a day Saturday.
They are talking 12 an hour though, and I am trying to get 14. So we will have to wait and see.
They have not bought all the trucks yet. Buying 6, they have 1 so far. Would be hauling from the stone plant to 2 locations owned by them. They are ok to work for but I was getting paid better when I left 3 years ago. He said because a mixer is more work lol.
I bet I can get 13 out of him though. Waiting for a call now.
