Bob it's great to see you doing so well at Werner, as you said from word go, it all starts with attitude from start to finnish.

I went into the Military right after H.S. in 1985, there were negative people there to, bad mouthing everything they didn't like, or everything they thought was so unfair about the United States Army.

After leaving the Military after a three year enlistment I went into construction where as I had met many others that failed at their jobs because they went to work everyday with the same poor "Everyone is out to get me" attitude, I've worked for a few differant companies over the years where as every where I went I met the same people with differant faces.

People have to understand if they don't have a winning attitude, they will most likely lose out everytime.

Bob, I'm very glad to see you a winner! - Good luck to you, and be safe out there!

Bob has is right … it’s all in your attitude … I am in my 6th week of training with Werner and from what I have seen so far this is a good company for a driver to start out with. I am training in what they call zone 7 which runs from Detroit or Buffalo up into Canada … this is the area I will be driving once I get my own truck. Most the people I have meet seem to share in Bob’s positive attitude and are making money and home pretty much every or every other weekend. There are a few who are always whining about something, but when you hear the “whole” story you come to find that these people are their own worst enemy. The economy is a wreck and freight is still slow but over the past six weeks I have seen things picking up for us. My trainer is a great guy and has done a great job to mentor me … crossing the border isn’t bad and generally it leads to some pretty good miles for us. Like any other part of life Trucking is what You make of it. Stay Safe!

What does it really matter allycat, why not ask some of them about the number of Werner drivers that have found a home there, sure it may be a starter company but I met a Werner driver a few months ago that has been with the company since 1981, and when I was suprised by that he had told me there are some there that have more years with the company than that.

Any job you do is going to reflect what you put into it.

High turnover rate due to = people that THINK they want to be truck drivers, get a CDL and get into a truck only find out it isn't a cool in real life as it is in the movies.

I've been in the business for a long time myself, I've come to find out that better than 80% of these young men that start off at these companies like Werner-Swift-Central-CR England ect. got it in their heads that over the road trucking is an easy life where money is thrown at you all the time for just driving a nice new truck up and down the Interstate, and going home on the weekends. They get in a truck and find out there is a whole lot more B/S and a whole lot less money than they had imagined and then their automaticly looking to either go back where they come from, or ready to try a differant trucking company until they find that perfect money making machine they had hoped for.

Im going to Werner... after 16 years out of the trucking industry .. have one more week of school left.. then off to Werner.. I have to agree..most ppl that get in to this industry doesn't know what they are getting in to... then they get cdl and get hired on by a big company... thinking they are going to make the big $$$.. :) ..then reality hits...and they decide wow..this is not for me.. so that makes the turn over rate high at the big company's. I have to admit..I'm going to use them for my seat time..and then go to a smaller company..but ya never know.. I might end up there for the next 20 years..
