So, what you're saying is ... no one with half a brain and a spell check can be a truck driver? I wish I could say that you're being elitist...
Thing is I had two college degrees ... one in engineering and one in business ... long before becoming a driver. I guess I must be a company plant too ... no chance that someone smart would want to drive a truck ... see the country ... and have a little freedom in his or her life.
Nice attitude bud.![]()

My two cents about attitude, warranted or not:
Anger as with any emotion is a state of mind and therefore temporary. Attitude is a state of being and for the most part consistent if not permanent.
Any emotional state will pass if given time (good and bad) the best thing that you can do to deal with others (DM, Dispatch, etc... ) is give it a minute or two before typing your emotional outburst into the QC. I believe that, if you ask around, a lot of bad feelings between drivers and companies either started with an ill timed QC message or phone call. Remember, for the most part, say it and forget it, write it and regret it.
And it goes both ways. As is always true ... there are two sides to every coin.
The other thing I've learned well in my almost 40 years on the planet. Anger is 98% wasted time and therefore not worth it.
As for attitude ... Bob has the right attitude to make things work in both a hard economy and a difficult job. Learn from him if you can. However, changing your attitude will take more than lip service. It will take time, dedication and something that is severely missing in our society today ... something fairly in tangible ... simple "want to".
Go Bob! Keep the greasy side down and the shiny side up. But remember, keep your options open and always work to YOUR advantage.
There's a guy that works for Crete on this forum, evertrucker, check out his thread and you'll see that it can be done no matter which company you happen to get signed on to.

To Rattlebunny, you must have a secretary. Your grammar is well phrased and your spelling is perfect. Are you sure you are not a company recruiter or something. I mean it's almost like you have a good attitude. I thought to be a truck driver you had to be negative, spell lousy and, oh my Lord I have to get with my secretary to see if she can correct this entry. LOL!!!!!!!!
Yes attitude will always count. You make of it what you will. When you get up in the morning or whenever it's your choice to have a good attitude or a bad attitude. It's all in your approach. You reap what you sow.
Try this little experiment. Take a pencil and force it sideways as far as you can into your mouth till your lips have a slight upturn. Now sit or stand straight up. How do you feel?
Now take the pencil out and take a deep sigh, relax your face and slump your shoulders as far down as you can. Now how do you feel? If your honest this will prove to you that you can create your own attitude. It's your choice.
Choose to be positive. Choose to bring value to others peoples lives and believe me you will reap what you sow.Rattlebunny Thanks this. -

Well they offered the bf a training position and he accepted.
Any info/advice/warnings for becoming a trainer for Werner? -
To be a trainer for Werner isnt bad that is if.... who ever wants to lose Money and get NO sleep.. the first 3 days the trainer has to watch the student for 5 hours each day. then th next 11 days they have to watch them for at least 1 1/2 hrs a day.. they won't let you do it less then 11 days THEN they will push the trainer truck like its a team truck knowing the Trainer isnt getting no REAL good sleep... then the Student will be on the truck after his Time is up.. oh an if any of the students get in ANY accidents or any Safety violations in 1 yr the TRainer loses even more money soooo its an no win thing there I think.. Werner's new training Program is so wrong.. I was a trainer for them for 6 years. the Older Program was so much better.

well Kindhearted my bf was a trainee himself just last summer so he knows about the lack of sleep the trainer got and he's also spoken with many trainers he's run into just being on the job so he has heard the stories about getting horrible trainees that can't drive, have no hygene, are racist, etc.
My bf and his own trainer pretty near hated eachother during the training session and my bf almost left the truck on more than one occassion.
So he does not have any romantic unrealistic notions about the job.
He also does know about the lack of sleep aspect and he is NOT looking forward to that - he can only hope he gets a trainee that picks up quick so that he can trust to close his eyes for a few hours but we don't know yet.
That being said - the thing that has my bf most worried is the new points system enforced on drivers where they are accountable for the driving record of their trainee for one year.
He did already say he would doing it but he's planing on calling and changing his mind - we'll see how that goes.
