Well, he's new and don't know all the trick's and turn's. Never worked for them and don't care to. Have fun with those electronic log book's, I'll stick to paper log's thank you. You can't do anything illegal with them. As I was told by one Werner driver, I asked if he could move his truck (bobtail) so I could get into a parking space at the TA outside of Atlanta and said his truck won't move till his 10 was up. I got a brand new truck from FFE and 20 of the new one's have electronic log's (new touch screen QC's) after a week that ####### magically stopped working you hear me. #### that, never again.

LOL, that driver was lying. You get a 15 minute "leeway"anyways (if u go over 15 its only a warning)and yes he coulda moved his truck, probly was just lazy.I got maybe a total of 3 violations the whole time I was there tho..werner has been doin it for so long they have no kinks in their logging system

hell I coulda run for 1800mi/30hr straight if no regulations, well I have but just wasnt drivin the entire time. You guys need to go ahead and geta jump on everyone else and go electronic cuz its comin whether u like it ornot. I think electronic is alot safer. you cant move the truck until ur 10 is up.

We have one shipper that is bad about releasing a load around 3 p.m. that is supposed to deliver 500 miles away one time zone east at 7 a.m. . What makes it worse is that puts me through Louisville at 5 p.m. . If I drive to the cons it puts me there around 1 a.m . . If I unload on time I haven't even had 7 hours sleeper and my 14 hour hasn't stopped . There are notices on our bulletin board and copies of logs showing where drivers logged sleeper but corporate knew they were unloading . These drivers weren't from our terminal . Safety faxed the notices to all terminals . HOS will NOT be violated . The only option is to take your 10 hour break before arriving there and get there when you get there .

Electronic log's with companies but you have to remember that there are still a lot of one man one truck shows out there that still use the good old telephone or a laptop to get their load's dealing directly with brokers, shipper's and receivers. They don't even have QC's in their trucks. If I go out and buy a truck and trailer and run my own authority and pay everything myself then I will tell them to kiss my arse because I refuse to use a paperless log and I move to strike!

ALN: Thanks for the info. Wasn't sure how those thing's work. The log part didn't work in the truck I had thank god but that new QC with the paperless log program is a snitch and a half. Safety called me up and said they showed me hard braking 6 times within the same hour in KC, MO. I had just dropped my trailer and it had just started raining. I had some time to kill so I was screwing around in a dead industrial park and the first drive axle locks up easy anyway. (think the brakes were out of adjustment) Safety called me and chewed my arse and then asked if I was doing my log on the computer and I said no because it didn't work when I got the truck so he said "we'll try and get you back to the yard to get that fixed." I told him I'm sticking to paper log's, if you bring me in for that I'll walk off and leave this #### truck where it sit's right now while we are still on the phone. I don't play that BS. #### the DOT and government. They are trying to control WAAAAY to #### much. Look at other countries that don't even know what a log book is, no slow speed limits like we have trucks aren't turned down like our are but they have far fewer accidents than we do. Something wrong with that picture?

Yeah . like attorneys or FMCSA auditors . Wait 'til CVSA 2010 kicks in and audits turn up multiple violations by the same drivers and they get disqualified . All it takes is one driver having a serious accident or one disgruntled employee complaining to the FMCSA to get an audit .
I suppose you really think customers will not be banging on your door and calling your dispatch when you don't start unloading . Besides , they are not the ones at fault . It's the shipper .

    ya ur right.
I do wanna make the point tho that if a driver is involved in an accident due to fatigue he shouldnt have been runnin his self beyond what he could handle in the first place and should have known better.Altho it is the drivers fault for makin the choice to take the ld when he was too tired, it shouldnt have to be a choice he should have to make. It is the shippers fault, its like..get the ld there on time pushin urself to the limit or let the load be late, isnt right. Somethin else that goes on that isnt right are these dispatchers (mainly for the larger companys)gettin these huge bonuses for no lt lds. And pushin these rookie drivers too hard that are too afraid to say No or I am too tired out of fear of getting fired and runs someone over or runs off a mountain. For the most part, you as a driver need to know your limitations. Some people can run harder then others. Know your limit.
