Working hours for Brokers

    Most brokers work daytime hours, however larger brokers have after hours people. Most of the after hours people are useless, but sometimes you get lucky.

    Teams are definitely tricky to book for especially if running 100% broker freight. In a market that’s going down you’ll be in constant push/shove of maximizing miles, timing, and revenue.

    You don’t want to waste time, but you also can’t book cross country because those rates are the first to go down so your caught in a catch 22 of not maximizing time but making sure you don’t run cheap.

    I agree tho freight that has to go and there are no other options is when you’ll really make your money with a team now that we’re approaching more of a normal market so to speak.

    Most of the smaller brokers go home around 5-6 and unless they really need a load moved you're waiting til next morning. Some of the bigger guys you can call around the clock. Some just have their tracking people answer the phone for check calls
