Working while training on Cdl licence

Are you asking if it's possible to work at a job and do CDL training at the same time?

 

There's only so many hours in a day; do what you want on your off time from cdl training.
Where are you in Kentucky. Probably some Kentucky drivers on this forum that can help you.

 

I think what you're asking about is what most LTL companies refer to as a "dock to driver" program, and yes, you can be working and training for your CDL. If you're applying for a dock position, tell them up front that you have a permit, and would like to people part of their program. Typically, once they have an opening for a trainee, then you sign a contract to work for a year or two after you receive your CDL.

 

I did it. My wife and I cleaned medical offices at night. Granted it was a few hours a night, but it is possible.

 

I worked full time and went to school for my cdl full time as well.

 

Some CDL schools have weekend classes for people that want to keep their current job and still attend cdl school. This works well for people in your situation.
Are there cdl schools in Frankfort or near you?
Roehl Transport pays their students $500.00 weekly while attending their cdl school. I don't know the details, so you'll have to call and ask.
