I had a drive cam that uses a SD card.
I forget about perhaps formatting the card?
First time I downloaded a couple videos from it. Then trashed everything there. Saved ones won't get wiped off unless I do it with a computer.
    Then used it again.
This time checked it. I got nothing there?
Should I have formatted it again? Or?

Depends on the dashcam. My BlackVue, I just hold down the power button for a few seconds, then it will beep, format the SD card and install software on the card so it can be viewed on a Mac or PC computer.

If you're being asked to format. Beyond the first time. The card might be getting worn out.

That's usually what happens on the computer

    uncleal13 Thanks this.

This is a large card. I can record overnight. It's also a very high quality card. Not cheap.
I let it go. Recording constantly. I only had a couple things on there where I pushed the emergency button to keep it. Otherwise it records over past recordings.
