Another vote for Carhartt here. I've got a set of the breathable ones and they are awesome. I threw a set of suspenders on the bottoms and ordered them a little big so they'd go on easily over whatever I was wearing.

I would buy a rain suit even a good one will probaly rip. I dragged a skateboard around for 6 years I bought a cheap pair of coveralls (thin ones for summer thick ones for winter) from wal mart one piece suits because you get really dirty tieing/tarping down you can always change clothes in the trk if your wet but they keep your clothes clean and rip free..

I have the Frogg Toggs rainsuit. It is a great price ($70) and breathable so you dont sweat to death. Ive had mine for 4 years and no tears or rips.

WHen I was working outside all winter Carharts were $90+ and walmart brand Walls were $40. The guy who bought the walls was freezing and ripped it up in a month. My carharts lasted a few years!

Get a cheap brand if money is tight. But look for sales when times are better. Check overstock sites and auctions like ebay and craigs list. Even used "good" equipment can be better than new cheap stuff.

I buy marine grade wet wear. Lasts a lot longer. My question is, if it's already wet, Why the heck do I need to tarp it? Tarps can hold water in, as well as out.

Man I had to tarp tree stups right out of the ground when I asked the company why? He said that these stumps are hardwoods which are used for high end paneling and if I didnt tarp it road grime could get in the grain damaging the razor blades that shave off the sheets of paneling.. I was like whatever lol

The crotch went because your not supposed to sing Rap while wearing it. Those cheap suits aren't made for all that grabbing action with Rap.

I've had to tarp guard rails going to interstate construction sites. They unloaded the stuff with one of those things that drives the posts into the ground. Turned the thing sideways and shoved the guard rails and boxes of nuts & bolts off the trailer and into the mud. I made $40.00 tarping it, so I didn't really care.
