Sounds like Atlanta. I had a load due at 16:00. I got there 10 minutes til. I decided to go ahead and take a nap right there at the plant until 20:00 rather than deal with 85, 285 and 75 back to home base.
Worst city?

I really enjoyed your post, thank you .. lol.
I have driven in LA and Dallas-Fort Worth. I still think Atlanta is worse, but that is probably because I have seen it at its worst. It is maddening sometimes.Trucker61016 and x1Heavy Thank this. -
Getting out is not fun. There is like two ridges to cross the hard way...SingingWolf and TravR1 Thank this. -
Having never been west of the Mississippi River (someday I will get to the left coast), I'd have to say D.C. is the worst for traffic. I'll willingly go to NYC before D.C.
But I stay local, around Harrisburg. And that's becoming bad enough anymore. The people around here have no clue how to drive..Trucker61016 and x1Heavy Thank this. -

I had heard a rumor in LA that there is a law or something to not allow trucks on the freeways during rush hour?
But then, rush hour is about 5 hours long in LA.
One time I took a drive that I had done in one hour. Speeding and all, in the middle of the night, from the north end of LA county, down into Orange county. This one trip started in Huntington Beach on Thanksgiving eve. Took me 6 hours!
It's pretty bad when the traffic report on the radio says: Forget it! Doesn't matter where you go. All the freeways are jammed up.SingingWolf Thanks this. -

It's part of my early stomping grounds in that part of the area. Route 30 in particular.
I have gone everywhere small with a big truck and they were tolerant when I did run off the roads into the farms and woods. Even the occasional Amish horse buggy does well with me when I creep past gently without power. Ive wondered sometimes that poor horsie eyeing that monster on the left...
Here in the south there is still churching going on with yes sir yes mam etc and traffic aint bad, yet. But I can tell there has been a population growth in the last 10 years. We gone from what? 2500 to around 15 heading for 25K people if not more.Trucker61016 Thanks this. -
