The cabbage in winter in the wrong gear with a ton of traffic who hooooo
Sam Hell Thanks this. -
For me it was probably Lizard head pass in Co, had to del. a snow cat up there a couple of years ago, weather was not good.
Also NOT a mountain road but there is a road from New Philadelphia, OH to Wheeling, WV called 250, just take my advise and stay clear of it. It makes what should be an hour run take about four hours, and you are tired of shifting and turning the wheel when you are done.
No fun. -

I almost died on I 64 east of Beckley WV when it first opened.8 pct grade for 5 miles and I was hauling 5000 gals. of brake fluid in a shotgun tanker.Bulldog with no jake and not paying attention.WHAT A RIDE THAT WAS.

I think if you take the dragon, you should quit so the rest of us won't have to hear about it!!
I rode a motorcycle thru there and thought it was tight!
Now as far as Donner pass goes..It's a cake wake! The signs freak rookies out and that's it. Back in the 80's in a cabover and no Jakes, it may have been scary.
Everyone has there own personal devil and that's a good thing, but for me, coming off off cabbage into Ore westbound bugs me and I-5 north into Ore bugs me also because rookies do not read the signs or think they are above the warning and want to drag race down the hill and that bothers me! Sunday night, I had a light load going into Medford and I was in a older truck with jakes and some stud muffin in a new shinny new ride wanted by, I look into the mirror and he was cooking his brakes! That's all I need is some speed racer hiting me on the down hill.
Pick a road, ask others how to get past it and go on!!TRKRSHONEY Thanks this. -
If you ever come down White Bird on 95 outta Lewiston, Id, look over to the left as you are descending, that cow path of switch backs was the old road. Glad I never had to "try" that one, I don't even think my trailers could make the turns, lol.

Donner is deceptive. If you're no paying attention it can get over on you in a hurry. And, the fact that weather can change on there in a heartbeat. Donner gets real tough real quick in a snow storm.
I love seeing the huge oversize loads going down cabbage. Jakes bellowing, creeping a long on the low side of their transmission. That's gotta be a wild ride. I always keep an eye on them in my mirrors just in case a drive line snaps and they need extra rolling room
