Well Congratulations on wanting to get your CDL, Victor V, I think gave you the best advice. I would also recommend start with a school bus. I wouldn't do transit. you can pm me why If you must know. I did this myself 13 years ago to get my CDL. I wizzed through it because my father worked for Greyhound for 16 years before I got mine CDL. The training is really good and it's free. Some even pay for the your license and you can quit if you don't like it without any penalty. I've seen some go through the course, get the license and split. Once you have your Class B in hand, your only one test away from your Class A. I'd look for Durham School Services, their always looking for drivers or your local school district. If you do go with durham. stay for just a year and look for greener pastures. Just remember when you get your license, the rules change! Your a professional driver and have to carry yourself like a professional. Booboos are hard to get erased once you get them!! Best of luck to you!

Greyhound is just not the company that it used to be. The company just doesn't have the one large family fell like it used to. Well it does if your an old timer but I think most of them are gone or about to leave shortly. My father joked that if he died that the would bring a bus to his funeral. Well they did. In dallas the brought 2 and in maryland they sent 1 from NYC. They don't even do that anymore. The world's fastest dog and really lost her luster. And her american appeal since she is owned by the folks across the pond!

I'd be honest. If it was the same company when my father worked there, I would work there(early 90's greyhound). But he told me in 2004, if an application with my name came across is desk, he'd break my legs. After he passed, I was asked if I would apply. I told them no, Greyhound started it's slide to the pits when laidlaw owned them. plus the lord works in mysterious ways, I don't want to know what two broken legs fells like.

the mechanical part of getting your cdl is pretty simple, so long as you pay attention... everything is connected AND DON'T YOU FORGET THAT, I found a number of my classmates singing a parody of the "bones song" find a system that works for you and you'll find it easy, these trucks are easy to drive, and with power steering we had a 92lb 5'1" female 22yrs old driving these trucks just fine...

I thought you are already doing that stuff, except for the nursing home!
