LOL . You keep displaying your ignorance
http://www.logisticsmgmt.com/articl...ver_turnover_rate_is_still_above_100_percent/
Turnover has been discussed over and over here and I'm not going to waste my time trying to explain it to someone with obvious lack of comprehension ability
If you knew anything at all you'd know that REAL O/O's don't accept low rates . Really it is a waste of time to respond to your senseless rants . Anyone that has been a member here any amount of time has seen confirmation of statements I've made over and over .
New hire requirements from one of the companies you claim are "mythical" because you don't know how to Google .

For the love of ALL good,by God somebody got it right!!!!!
U r EXACTLY right, but watch closely how the naysayers will come
running...when I first started I was already in an industry that included trucking
so bought my 1st truck after self taught driving went on the road and made ALOT of $
right from the get go... But in this industry sadly you have to find that niche.
I feel really bad for green horns nowadays,bc big brutha carriers are
less than honest, and most went to an expensive school, only to learn
they will hardly see home, and make less than fast food wages once you
add up the total hours. That is NOT right,I don't care who you are.
Most have families, mortgages, utility bills, and financial burdens just like the
rest of us. So why should they start out poor? What other industry does this?
I completely understand starting on the bottom of the totem pole as far as
seniority goes,but NOT starving wages.
i just wonder if these carriers put a face on every child that driver has,or
copy of every drivers financial burdens,if they could still look them in the eye?
ill never agree with some of the nonsense in this industry...I believe and always
have, that you do what you say you are going to do...both parties!RickG Thanks this. -
what you fail to show is its a company compromised of O/O fleets the company itself doenst have there own trucks of course there hiring states what it does so they dont restrict to much how there O/O fleets hire. but the standards for the O/O fleets can be much higher and i expect they would be as there insurance premiums would be too high to actually hire greenhorns/rookies.
looked at there open positions ? nope or else you would have seen there are no driver openings currently listed now dont get me wrong the O/O companys that Contract through them may be hiring though its just not posted on there web page.
but you have shown 1 place that may hire a rookie with only 6 months recent exp for OTR no experience for local straight trucks and cargo vans, which isnt OTR and would be dependent on the need for them in your specific area.
my google search "trucking companys that hire otr driver with no experiance" shows the low pay bottom feeder companys like cre, crst, pam, stevens, schneider
so clue me in how your google search is worded to find these good paying no experience having companys without your own truck?
@charlie girl see you bought your own truck so yea you could do it with out experience some of us dont have that option to buy a truck pay the insurance get all the other fees paid for that comes with a O/O but if you couldnt do what you did you wouldve been in the same boat as the rest of us. I know some people have gotten a break but its who they know or family related buisness start out heck i bet your first job was with the place you were working for prior to getting your O/O status or a great word from the place you were working at
i love how these self starter leave out the VITAL information

I don't have a clue? What are you smoking? Let me invite you to go read your own post again!
The turnover rate includes all truckers, not just newbies entering the profession. Sure a lot of newbies won't make it past their first year, but every year a lot of drivers will also retire, or otherwise drop out of the industry for a host of all sorts of reasons ranging from too many accidents, too many service failure, getting fired, to getting married and finding a local job away from the industry. There are myriads of reasons people drop out of the industry everyday, but what does that have to do with all those great opportunities for newbies "for those with the sense to not run like sheep to slaughter to bottom feeders ."
Link???
Actually, in the last seven years the total number of drivers out on the road has increased from about 2 million to over 3 million today. Hence, those drivers came from somewhere. They just didn't materialize by osmosis.
Give me a break...the OP you attacked was talking about class 8 trucks, not straight trucks.
That's the best you can do, is cite straight trucks in a conversation about class 8 trucks? You're a waste of time!
The federal government is behind pumping in all those new wannabes and at the same time interfering with the law of supply and demand in the trucking industry while constantly claiming trucker shortage, trucker shortage to justify the millions of dollars they pump into the industry every year.
Nevertheless, the gist of your post was, "there are good opportunities for those with the sense to not run like sheep to slaughter to bottom feeders ."
Put your money where your mouth is by listing all those good opportunities for newbies with brand new shiny CDLs but no experience. Excuse me if I won't hold my breath waiting.lilrich Thanks this.
