Trucking is not perfect and never will be my friend .
Some older equipment is far better than this new junk .
Over the last 30 years I've gotten off to a rough start with more than a few companies and they turned out to be great companies .
Not trying to sound grandfatherly to you but back in the day the new guy always got the junk .
My first real driving job was in 1987 with a small Minnesota company and newbie issue for me was a pos wore out 1974 freightliner cabover with no ac and spring suspension , I cleaned it up and kept it that way and within 5 months I was in a brand new truck .
Do what ya want pal but at least return the truck to Minnesota.
PS...the fact that they flew you there says alot about this co...most would put you on a nasty bus .
Best to you pal !
Would this be abandonment?

Don't let people get yo you ride out the storm get payed for your time then go home
-
So, @xlsdraw how does the story end, if we may ask? Inquiring minds would like to know
Pintlehook and bzinger Thank this. -

Worse case senario... Pick the truck up at Mechanic and tell them to load you up, Back to Minn. Tell them you will be returning the truck to where you got it and will be leaving back for home.
-
You owe it to the customer to take care of the load entrusted to you. Treat the load as if you invested your hard earned money to purchase it. After you deliver the load or relay it, do what you have to do.

I believe for all of you who are married that posting a photo of you wife would make it easier for me to give you advice.
The correct thing to do is to check into a motel and wait for the truck to be repaired or a loner truck provide. The company should make the decision for you. Do the best you can to make the company whole.driverdriver, xlsdraw and bzinger Thank this. -
Got news for any of you asking and/or discussing the "tow truck delivering the load" nonsense.
It is not the towing companies responsibility to deliver the load. They don't have to offer, they don't even have to consider it or name a price. Hell, they don't even have to tow the truck if they don't want to. The whole conversation is nuts.
To the OP...the short answer to your question is: Yes, it would be abandonment.xlsdraw Thanks this.
