    Maybe you should read up on the new rules. A 7/3 is legal as well.

    Op. What I would've done for a 1/2mi move is go to reciever, go off duty for 10ish min. Then PC and put in the comments, "no parking at reciever, told to move by law enforcement". Then pc back to the reciever when its time and continue my 10hr break.

    Is it legal, probably not but it can't be proven what happened that night before.

    Very true, but he was wanting to know the minimum for the short portion of the split. That's 2 hours, which makes it 8 in sleeper. Sure one can do a 7/3 as an option, but as it makes the short portion even longer it doesn't apply to the ops situation.
