I am not bashing land star or any company. But we all no, at every company put there. There are some big money guys. Some goijg broke everyday guys. And the rest of us. So for every $10-15,000 per load drivers. There are 1000 $1.60-200 per mile guys.

As for OP's original question, I dont know how things are out there now as Ive been off of the road for nearly 4 years but it would depend on a lot of things you need to consider? Like one poster stated a Good Business Plan and an Accurate Profit/Loss Statement/Break Even Analysis is essential so you know exactly how much its costing you to run that truck per mile.
