    On the other hand...

...if you DON'T give up this job for trucking, you will regret it for the rest of your life.

My health insurance is $25 every 2 weeks with $25 deductible that's it. Can't get that in trucking

No pension here... but if you stay 30 years you get a lifetime pass to the Rec center.

NavigatorWife, Chinatown and Lepton1 Thank this.

    Too bad.
    Get a legal tablet.
Put a line down the middle.
Label top "PRO" on left, and "CON" on right.
A silly visual aid, but tallest column wins.

And if you don’t quit your job for trucking you will regret it for the rest of your life. I’m not saying this because the move will better, but you never know until you try and we only have so many years to be here....go for it and don’t look back.

A very nice Dockmaster asked if I wanted to engage into the Docks as potentially a Union and be a part of that type of environment in Baltimore when I was at 21.

VERY tempting and who knows what the future would be. What a oppertunity.

    Just one thing.

I had wanderlust, I'll be rocking and rolling around the USA and Canada I could not be happy too long in the Longhouse at dawn.

Why? If you consider a Maresk OMFG Toobig docking, dumping 10,000 containers into the place in a day it never looks done. Still stacks of boxes 3 deep on the whole property. A form of Sisyphean stone rolling up.

    Thats why I declined.

Life is sometimes a choice in your road. To the right lies paradise. But in order to go left and get around to Paradise you might find yourself in battle.

    Again; its a mental thing.
I got a buddy that runs a septic pumper truck, (yeah, the guy that eats a sandwich in one hand,
With the 4" hose in the other,) and is happy as a pig in, well you get it.

U can get opinions all day - end of the day, U need to decide whats right for U.
