I'd say look at the whole picture.
    1. Do you want to spend more time with the wife.
    2. Can you guys work well together.
    3. What is your long term goals. (Stay company, go O/O,)
    4. What are you going to pull. ( Skateboard, bottle, box, fridge, ECT)
    5. Do you really want to start a new career.
In my case it was better. I was diesel mechanic for almost 5 years at a local shop after I got out of the Army. I make more money, but I wasn't make your kind of money.
I stay out 2 to 3 weeks at a time. I love my family, but I never want them to go without again. Don't sound like you have that problem brother. I think it would be something you guys sit and discuss. Weigh all the pros and cons. Good luck and keep updated.

NavigatorWife and Blues Junkie Thank this.

Really think on it. One wreck not your fault or a failed Dot physical or a company going under & its back to square one.

Tx countryboy is right. Grandpa had a car cross lanes and instead of hitting women with kids, he took his truck off the mountain. Lived.... If you call it that. Had a rod put in his back, and parked his dream. But you could have a jack give out while your under it, trip and hit your head on the table. Life is Life. Do what will make you happy brother.

That thought has definitely crossed my mine. It would very easily to derail a career before it even gets going. I appreciate all the replies.... keep em coming.... I dont jump into these decisions lightly.

    Thanks.

Another one is that square one isn't so bad. You leave a job. You can have another driving job before the sun goes down. Much demand for drivers. Especially in Denver! Many can't pass the drug test.
