Not anytime soon and hopefully never due to OOIDA fighting for what is right. They arent backed by trucking companies like the ATA (big joke) so they fight for drivers rights

You choose to drive for that company and dispatch that you were allowing to put you on those BS loads your talking about. If they were BS then you could have said NO I am out of hours and if you don't believe me then I will have the ScaleMaster give you a call. So You could have saved the hassle of the E-Logs.

My point was, the additional stress caused me to be notably heavier footed, risky and did absolutely no good for my general health. Constant scrutiny is not good for productivity, morale or health.

I never had a log violation on elogs. Regardless, I felt the pressure. I lost over 20 pounds while on them because I was afraid to even stop to go to the bathroom. Barely two months into being back with Swift and back on paper, I nearly ended up in ICU with an IV sticking in my arm pumping antibiotics into my system from a urinary tract infection I earned while trying to not stop for pee breaks while at Prime...on elogs.

Stop to eat? That's a joke. Hurry up and get to the customer, take the majority of my breaks in their parking lots. Shower? How about baby wipes and wash my hair in the bathroom sink? That had to be good for that UTI. Couldn't go anywhere or my clock would start. Once started, keep going until you run out of hours or arrive at the next customer, still dirty and hungry, but tired of eating out of cans. Nothing seems appetizing, so screw it. Tired outweighs hungry, go to bed.

    Yeah. That's a healthy lifestyle.

I felt the same way, but went e log because the 1100 bucks a week beats flippin burgers and wearing a name tag. As a fact it does a better job managing splitting 10 into 8 and 2. The down side is it is always on, and the clock is in control of hos not the drivers/just what big brothers wanted! :biggrin_25523:

Injun, I hear you loud and clear. Many days eat out of a can and pee in a bottle. showers are 2 x a week sometimes when fr8 is up. Goofing off has been taken away, but being otr 48 on elog has not hurt my income. Lastly, I don't worry about being illegal at the coups anymore. What I see on the road is fleets doing it and o/o not doing it. I am sure one day they will have an app for a smart fone that does e logs. Big brother suks!:biggrin_25510:

That's funny stuff there. Ask Spencer what he got from The Transportation Secretary for serving on his committee. Ask Johnston how much Federal Money they are getting for their first alert program.

Bought and paid for politicians serving in Washington. Fighting for drivers yeah right.

But to answer the question. There would have to be some changes made if forced into elogs. The longer trips would have to have an increased rate because my home time is valuable to me. If I am forced to camp then I need more pay.

If there is not a rate increase then the boss wold have to limit my runs to less then 650 miles.

If not then I will hand over the keys to the truck and move over to Holland/MbarD and haul coal in a day cab and learn to share a truck with someone else and learn to keep a time card and let them worry about the rest.

Now how much of that was elog related and the situation you placed yourself in?

I think the argument could be made signing on to a lease that was so lopsided towards Prime caused a significant portion of your habits then. Being practically held hostage in a financial quagmire and seeing no alternative but run run run didn't facilitate at least some of that?
