You must work in the LTL sector. Sounds like it suits you just fine, but it absolutely does NOT suit everybody else the same way. I do it, and many things about this branch of the industry leave MUCH to be desired. Some drivers choose not to deal with the "pass the buck" mentality that infests the LTL side and run OTR instead. So for you to demean and belittle them by taking such cheap shots in the manner you have is nothing short of detestable.

Getting back to the original post, I work for Ruan in Texas and this ad is believable. You would have to go to their website to apply. I am happy and paid well driving for Ruan.

It's possible to make 80k as the op suggests, but not probable, IMO. .49 cpm x 3500 miles a week = $1715 gross, meaning you'd need to run 47 weeks to get $80K. I don't think it's probable to sustain 3500 miles a week for 47 weeks. Is there drop pay or some other accessory pay that's involved?

it's a tanker job in the northeast nd with traffic, breakdown, load nd unload, customer delays im afraid you will able to drive 3500 miles per week for 49 weeks.

Most tanker drivers I have known receive substantial demurrage compensation when delayed at shippers/receivers.

You might be flawed in your math. Being that most companies don't give vacation until after the first year a guy would have to run the whole 52 without vacation. That drop the miles weekly down to just under 3,200. I guess we would have to see a complete breakdown of their pay structure before we made judgement.

    Triumph and Rugerfan Thank this.

Yep its very doable but consistantly not likely unless everything is drop and hook and a faster trk then say 60 mph.
