    Hello all,

I was hoping that someone could help me, if possible, with deductions. I have a good tax prepairer but my deductions seem very limited. I am only looking for job related expenses. I will explain why and hopefully some help will be had.

    1. I am a company driver
    2. I am home every night
    3. My uniforms are provided and laundered by the company
    4. Cell phone is provided and paid for by the company
    5. Boot allowance is paid by the company once a year and is $150.00
    6. All safety and rain gear is provided by the company
    7. Fax machine was bought for me and the company provides ink and paper. It only gets used for company business 4-5 times a month. 2-3 times to submit my time card and once or twice a month to get my dispatch.
    8. Clipboard, pens, paper etc. is paid for by the company.
    9. All road expenses are reimbursed so long as it is company business.

I am sure there is more but that is why I am looking to this forum for any help. Thank you in advance.

Not a tax pro, but having dealt with my own business and my own taxes except for one year, you are not going to have many deductions since everything is taken care of by the company.

With what you have listed so far you probably won't have enough to deduct or itemize.

Laundry, soap, boots ,gloves etc can all be deducted as "expense"
Truth be known, the IRS isnt a threat to anything under $70K per year
so show as many deducts as you can muster.

The problem is that all tools are provided for me by the company. If by chance I need to purchase anything on the road related to the truck or the company, I get reimbursed for the cost. They even pay for map books.

Anything that's reimbursed can't be written off by you.

Call me cautious but I don't want any part of the IRS. My wife and I fill jointly and our gross is well over 70K. In fact, my year to date (12-23-2010) is $79,929.99. So I think the next check will go on this year. I hope so anyway.

Thanks to all of you for your help.
