It sounds like you did as much as possible. I've had this happen to me with a customer in Las Vegas. The address on BOL and dispatch computer showed an address that hadn't been used for years. GPS took me exactly to that address, which was abandoned. All phone numbers on BOL were dead. I googled the company name and the city and started calling those numbers until I got the customer and they gave me correct address. I called dispatch and told them to update the address and phone numbers. Ask dispatch what would happen if they put the wrong address on a letter? And would it be the Postman's fault if the letter went to the address on the envelope? If the delivery time was important they would have given you the correct info.

Not your problem. If they "ding" you for it then go up the ladder higher in management and make some noise.

Yeah it always seems to happen like that. The ppl that schedule #### are the ones that #### up and when u need help there never there to help u . then they blame it all on the driver. It aint ur fault buddy we have all been there and it tends to happen more than we like to think . just chalk it up to a bad day and hammer on down the road again

    x1Heavy and skellr Thank this.

I always get resentful when they make promises that I don't know about until 5 hours later I find that I am already late on dispatch.

I bark back. They don't like it.

Send an email to dispatch giving them the correct address...for the benefit of the drivers who come after you. Chances are that your dispatch will delete the email, but you can move on knowing you did yourself proud.

If I’m going to a new place, I always do a pre-call and verify the address and unloading requirements.

With a lot of customers they don’t like us drivers calling. Even more the numbers are to office personnel that don’t arrive till long after my appointment

Which is why I argue with the customers. I AM the Agent of my company and SPEAK for my company when necessary. What part of this load YOU ordered arriving at this date and time dont you understand?

They fix it fast. With some more yelling at my standing up to them.

I usually do not get sent back. They want meek church mice who can only squeak...

What I did not do is get yelled at by Suits in my Company. Not for that.

    Lepton1 Thanks this.

I've never called a customer that didn't like truckers calling. Yes, there are prickly idiots on the other end of the line. The trick is getting through to the folks that WANT to talk to truck drivers. It usually starts with, "May I talk with whoever is in charge of shipping and receiving?"

    Bakerman and ZVar Thank this.
