no the weekend dispatch said it has happened before and not to beat myself up over it. but my reguler dispatcher tomorrow could be a different story

It's well worth the few minutes it takes to check trailer number, seal # and all pertinant information....all of us at one time or the other have gotten under what we THOUGHT was supposed to be our trailer....the difference is, if you do all the checks and balances to insure you have the right trailer will be a simple case of getting out from under the trailer and clearing up the problem...or dragging the wrong trailer possibly all the way to the wrong receiver....lol.
zmpart Thanks this. -
thats good.I dont think your reg dispatcher will say much its already happened. You learn by your mistakes. We have drivers at my company always picking up the wrong load. But the good thing is all the loads are going to the same place.Just have to wait till the next driver shows up with the correct bol.
mje Thanks this. -
I've always been afraid of doing that. Even at a drop n hook place. When I go to grab a trailer from the mt lot, I always check the back to make sure it's mt.
allniter Thanks this. -

We had guys do it and they were never fired. I almost did it once but I always check addresses and seals. I checked the seal and it was right and was about to head out when I realized the receiver was the wrong place. It was the right load but the shipper had put the right trailer and seal info on the wrong paperwork and the guy who picked up the load didn't check. I didn't know that at the time though so to me it could be the wrong load or the wrong paperwork. It was the middle of the night and I had no one to call so I just had to make the call not to move it even though I didn't really know if that was the right thing to do or not back when I first started. My boss was pretty happy I didn't pull once he woke up in the morning.
mje and Leftlane101 Thank this.
