Yep.
Ever see a relationship where one person is head over heels in love and the other one isn't?
Trust me. Your truck will tear your heart out and stomp on it with stilletos.
First you will find strange clothes in the bunk. You will be in denial. Your friends will be too embarrassed to tell you the truth...
...she's been slip seating on you.
Wrong turn...

Regardless of what some may say you did the right thing stopping however you need to know your turn around radius so you don't end up in a jackknife situation like you did... any smart company would be happy you called rather than destroy private or public property ..
Boattlebot, pattyj, tinytim and 1 other person Thank this. -

This social media thing works against you younger drivers. Posting everything that happens, Good and bad. Us older, More experienced folks didn't have this BS. As the saying goes... "Post pics or it didn't happen", Worked very well for us. "What pics? never happened!" LOL Ain't nobody got pics of my bone head stunts.

Wouldn't believe how many things I've learned defiantly - usually at the end of the belt in my mother's fist. Lol.
And a good time was had by all. -

Heh. Company I used to drive for had peoplenet with the GPS routing. Sent me the wrong way several times. Once had to back for over a 1/4 mile to be able to turn around (out in the country, road dead-ended). Other time way out in the country, found the GPS address was an old farmhouse, nope this ain't it. Proceeded to back trailer onto dirt access road, no sweat. Should have positioned trailer better before pulling back out onto blacktop. Trailer tandems hit a dip in the dirt, while road was more crowned than I realized. Outboard drives lost traction. Stuck. Blocking whole road. Middle of nowhere Montana. (Pretty sure I tried the all-wheel-drive-drives-switch)
Bull hauler comes along and says, "You headed to XYZ." "Uhh, yeah, how did you know?" "Oh you guys get stuck here at least once a month. Already called my buddy, he's on his way with his tractor and some chains." Tractor chained to the trailer and slid it sideways onto the road. $50 to the tractor guy, almost $40 to the bull hauler (everything I had in my pocket at the time) and I was on my way with directions to the place.
Do not understand how the company is okay with letting their drivers get lost (GPS was wrong about 4 out of 5 times). Would be cheaper to just update the software. How do they think they are saving money?Boattlebot and SingingWolf Thank this. -
Seriously, congratulations for just stopping. Many new drivers would have panicked and bent their cab extenders. You had a good day.
