I will BE THE FIRST TO TELL YOU...if i see a driver drinkin or buying booze n trying to leave I AM GONNA CALL THE COPS!!!!! now if he or she is laid over...thats a diff story...but if they try pulling out of the lot....I AM DIALING and I dont care if anyone likes it or not!! We have gone into truckstops that serve liquor (I know it said he went across the street) and I have told the waitress, "I know its not your job to babysit, but we feel it is a bad idea for a truck stop to serve alcohol"....FOR THIS VERY REASON...I know, if someone is gonna drink and drive, they are gonna get it somewhere...but dont put it RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM....I drink..BUT ON HOME TIME OFF DUTY!!!!!! Very sad...and I agree, its amazing anyone survived looking at that car...

I agree, I worked for ABF. I think, the parent company of USA truck
I'm very surprised, with ABF standards for drivers. (Still shaking my head)

USA truck is purposely keeping a low profile in this case.... primarily because they are partly at fault. Scuttlebutt from other USA driver's has it that Ross requested home time for the Xmas holiday's to spend time with family and the birth of his baby.... and USA truck nixed it. Or as they always do, turned a blind eye to the driver request and just kept him moving. While I don't condone what Ross did who knows what else USA truck did to set him off?

I too drive for USA truck and during the Christmas holiday's a load assignment was hard to come by, due to "as USA truck" put it, the lack of holiday loads and the snowy winter that blanketed much of the country. Yet, getting home during this time still had major roadblocks!! .

i wonder what fleet he was in. these dispatchers can easily set you off. It is like dealing with a bunch of 10 year olds. They are idots.

and if they have no loads over the holidays, they why not send you home?
they just makes things difficult for no reason.

I bet this guy jus snapped, and went crazy. I bet that's why he was drinking in the first place. He prob wanted to die that night.

I have driven on a well light highway with only my parking lights on before. I did not realize my headlights were off, because I could see fine.

The problem is some of these BFI companies don't care who they hire at all! It gets more appearant by the day that if u have a pulse & can breathe then they will hire you! It's completely & utterly ridiculous what's happening. It's a shame why anyone has to die like this. USA truck is going to pay big time for this too.
