i would think about trading trucks NOW, except i dont want that automatic. i have a problem with my exhaust temperatures, which could be a million things. and i noticed some rust trails by my waterpump, but i never see any puddles under there. when i came back from home my coolant was low, but there was no puddle.

    also, wtf?

BNR I'm sorry you must not have read the small print on that trade deal...

Pull the radiator cap and check to see if there is sludge in the radiator, The water pump may be taking a cr#$ I hope you don't have what I had done:biggrin_25513:, This place iasn't bad but it took a bit longer then I thought it should. I guess with the huge storm that hit last Tuesday night half the techs didn't make it in. We will see where I'm headed next:yes2557:. Those show schickens would look really good on my Bar B Q at home!! Take Care. TD24

Glad your moving again. Nine days break down-ouch!! I had your truck right before you got it - #1832 right? My first trip with it I had to get three tows due to the transmission locking up. Went to FL in Tolleson twice and they were unable to fix the problem. Had it towed to FL in Chandler where Missoula got Eaton involved and after a total of 9 or 10 days it finally came back fixed! For the most part it ran well from then on.
No break down pay though because I was able to spend the time at home. We're suppose to have a rare freeze tonight in AZ.

Hope the truck runs well for you from here on out...the APU in 1832 always seemed to work well, I'll bet you enjoy it too.

did you have any symptoms prior? if i decided to keep going with my temps the way they are i probably would throw bits of melted turbo into the engine and end up in the same boat. coolant temps are fine, its just the exhaust. im hoping its just the sensor or something simple, it seems to run just fine. i dont think theres a problem with the water pump, just looks like a possible leak. nothing too crazy. im set to go visit a shop tomorrow.

and chicken guy took a year and a half at the fuel isle. i was about to go start banging on it and start a chicken riot. he was still sitting there after i waited, then the isle to the right opened so i backed up and went there, fueled, waited longer for the genius in front of me there to come out and move. like 30 minutes he was blocking that thing! that i know of, he was there when i pulled up, and still there when i left.

Questions for those that know CA, starting 500 miles north of L.A. going to Rancho Cucamonga, would you take the 5 thru Burbank, hit the 134, take that to the 210 or get on the 210 from the 5?...Last time I went thru L.A. it took forever and I would rather avoid it...Has anyone taken the 210 from the 5?!?!?...

Thanks, yes 1832 is my number, The APU has sprung a leak and leaks like crazy, I was taking it to Helena when it choked and died here. I really like the way it runs now, I have not driven it much just up the street to a Sonic where I was craving some tater tots!! 2 orders later I think I fixed that craving! I had the trans lock up on me once there in Phx, I don't think it was anything I did, It just locked up in reverse and I couldn't start it, So John called the service co. he uses and he got it to break loose. I just hope me and the truck can make some bacon while we are both rested and ready to run. Thanks. Good to hear from you. TD24

BNR my exhaust temps were up, It was getting really crappy fuel mileage it was down to like 5.2 a gal. and it would not pull hills no matter the load 12K or 45K with the heavier loads it would get down to 5th gear on some hills before it topped the hill, It also looped a bit like a V-8 with a super stock cam in it or something, Man when that valve let loose it sounded like WW3 had just started under my hood, I got it to the side of the road quickly because all the cars around me vacated the area pretty quickly when they heard the racket!! Then it wouldn't start back up again. I knew when it went that I was going to be in Nashville for a while. I can now say I am an expert on the Nashville Public bus system.:biggrin_255:
