Ok Drivers...
most of you should be aware of the pending changes to the hours of service rulings. I have started a cause on Facebook to gain as much support as we can, to stop the FMCSA... Join the cause and invite all your FB friends to do the same. There is a link in the cause to the FMCSA web site and on the web site is a comments link...
LETS STOP THE FMCSA FROM DOING SOMETHING STUPID!

American TruckerHiWay Preacher Thanks this. -
I've been in modesto since 9 am Friday with a load that I can't del til Monday in fresno. Anyone else get stuck with a 750 mile run with 5 days to get there and RID "cant" repower? This has happened to me 3 times, and I've only been here 6 weeks...
-
Paycheck this week will equal zero...
-
i havent had that happen with a 750 mile run, but I've got a couple 1000-1400 mile runs with 8 days to do them, but I just do them in 2 and either call the customer and let them know I WILL be there and I WILL deliver or I have it repowered from a terminal....
Sometimes....sheet just happens and it sucks, not much we can do about it if we can't repower or deliver early....
American Trucker -

Just got a qualcomm message that we can't fuel up right now due to a system problem(?)...Better not be a bank account problem...Told us to sit tight unless you have enough to deliver...
I'm sitting at TA in Denver after day from hell...
Left happy as a lark at 4:30 this morning hoping for a great day, didn't turn out that way...Hit CO and saw the neon sign saying chains required to cross Vail Pass, since I haven't chained for something like this before, only to get out of somewhere I was stuck, I was trying to plan to go around it, no go, too committed by location, so committed to doing it...
Well, I get to the chain up area and there are people that will chain you up for $40, I was a player on that but they took so long getting to me I decided to do it myself...After 30 minutes and getting soaked and dirty I had them on and as soon as I tightened the last lock, the lift the requirement!...I was pissed so decided since I did it, I was going up and over the hill with them...Get to the other side and lost one somewhere enroute, DOH!...
Got thru that and thought it was smooth sailing from there, nope, the tunnel was working on an intermittent pace, 20 mins letting them thru, 20 mins hold...2hrs later and I'm in the tunnel...Now smooth sailing!...Nope...Signs start flashing from exit 242 to 253 chains required...I get to 242 throw on the 3 I have and 1.5hrs later, I'm in Denver...Not sure how I still managed to get 570 miles in, was looking forward to a 700 mile day...Now we can't get fuel, so much for that tomorrow, I'm sitting on a half tank and that won't get me to customer... -
we all get the Fleet messages ya know....
I filled up 3 hours before I parked here...somehow i'm now at 3/4 WTF! I have 8 stops to do, and I AM leaveing in the morning so there need to get this taken care of which I sure they will have done soon anyway. And I should have enough fuel to get through this whole load (2 more days) but I'd like to be able to fuel tomorrow night if need be...

its best to leave your chains on until after the tunnel unless you know theres no chains over that way for sure. if you dont know for sure leave them on anyway because your not going above 30 until after the tunnel anyway hahahaha.
you also need to stop and re tighten them...at least once. i always stop at the 2nd chain up after the big one and again at the top of the pass. and if im keeping them on past there once more at the chain down area by copper. i am paranoid about them flying off.
i have a bad feeling im over due for a multi furniture load. really dont want to. -
Modesto with a 1630 delivery on Monday in Tracy....gonna be a long day. I'll call in the am and see if I can deliver early, it's Safeway so I doubt it.
